Our History

God spoke to Rev. Mathew Oommen in 1978 and gave him a vision to reach the unreached cities, towns and villages of North India. He gave up his government job in 1979 and began his mission station in Delhi with just three people. Gradually, the ministry expanded under the anointed guidance of the Holy Spirit. Those days were marked by personal sacrifices by the entire team; limited resources didn’t hamper their evangelistic zeal. They passionately pursued the vision, given to them by God, to see North India saved, overcoming the difficulties and obstacles that came their way.

This mighty man of God, who had dedicated his life to the Lord at a very young age, worked hard to spread God’s work to many states in India over the next years, regardless of persecutions and trials. Upon guidance from the Lord, he later established THE IMPACT MISSION TO THE NATIONS to reach people throughout the nations, and proclaim the endless love of Christ, and invite people to savor His grace and mercy provided through Under His divine calling, Pastor Mathew later moved to New York where he served as the Pastor-in-charge at Teaneck IPC church for two years. After that, in 1991, he was led to Houston, where he founded the Emmanuel Pentecostal Church to mainly target the south Indian community. The church has grown many times in proportions since its inception. He has also shouldered key responsibilities such as the Vice-President of IPC Midwest Region, President of Houston Pentecostal Fellowship, President of IPC Houston Fellowship and Pastor of Bethel Pentecostal Church, Chicago. Apart from EPC, Houston we have branch church in Austin, Ohio and California.

He is currently serving as the Senior Pastor of the EPC in Houston and of its sister church in Austin. God has given him a burden and love for people who are looking for a place to be accepted as they are while sharing with them the fervent love of Christ.

Rev. Mathew Oommen has been serving the Lord for the past 30 years taking the Lord’s word to the world. He has been working in India and the USA as a missionary, evangelist, pastor, teacher and a church leader. He has also travelled widely in several parts of the world to evangelize, mentor and preach.

Impact Mission to the Nations (IMN) is a non-denominational organization, mainly reaching the unreached Northern India through native missionaries. To fulfill the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ, we have implemented various ministries such as Church Planting, Mobile Gospel Team Activities, Bible School, Literature Evangelism, Children’s Ministry, Music Ministry, Leprosy Relief Mission, Orphanage, Healthcare Activities, and so on.
